About Us

The liver is not traditionally seen as a pretty organ but we beg to differ.

We have been studying the liver biology for over 7 years using microscopy approaches. We have learnt that there is more to the liver than the red-brown mass one can see on the outside. We are motivated to share with you the beauty we see at our work on daily basis.

Eli is is currently a MSCA postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Emma R. Andersson at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm.

She studies liver development and is especially interested in how different systems - including bile ducts, blood vesssels and nerves - communicate with each other during development. She uses light sheet microscopy to visualize the different network systems inside the liver in 3D.
